Jesus said to them again, "Peace be with you.  As the Father has sent me, so I send you." (John 20:21)

Mission matters because God is a missionary God. The gathering of the church is not the ultimate purpose of mission, but rather it is the primary means by which God is carrying out his healing mission in the world. The gathered life of the Christian community is, then, not an end in itself but the way in which God's people are equipped for their vocation as witnesses in the world.

Although the idea has been around for over a century, the 1998 book titled Missional Church: A Vision for the Sending of the Church in North America was the first work to introduce the concept of the "Missional Church", which is focused on the identity of the church as a people sent by God into the world to fulfull His purpose.

According to Missional Church, the North American church had been tied to a "Christendom model" of Christianity, wherein the church focused on internal needs and maintaining its cultural privilege in society. The decline of Christendom provided the church an opportunity, the authors say, to rediscover its identity as a people sent by God into the world as gospel witnesses.

In the video messages, the missional concept is expressed as "showing the love of Jesus" (deed minstry) and "sharing the love of Jesus" (word ministry).

How can we show and share the love of Jesus in our place and time as individuals?

What are we/should we be doing in these ministries as Westminster?
