The Coldest Night of the Year Walk is a covid-safe, family-friendly walk to raise money for charities serving people experiencing homelessness, hurt, and hunger.  Since 2011, Westminster has joined thousands of Canadians in 144 communities across Canada in raising funds for local charities who serve and support vulnerable families and individuals.  The need is greater than ever this year as charities struggle with the devastating impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Walk will be different this year to keep everyone safe. Instead of a large gathering at Eau Claire, participants will either walk individually, in bubbles, or in teams as they are comfortable.  Depending on restrictions, Westminster is planning to walk as a socially-distanced team along the Bow River Pathway, starting at Angel’s Cafe (4105 Montgomery View NW) at 5 pm on February 20.You're invited to join the team by registering (click on the button below), or by sponsoring the team or one of its members (click on the other button below!). Last year, Westminster's team raised more than $5000; this year, they've set their target at $3000 and would be delighted to overachieve!

Funds raised by the Calgary Downtown Walk will support the HomeSpace Society in raising funds for affordable housing and the Feed the Hungry program that provides a weekly meal to Calgarians who are homeless or living in poverty. The goal for this year is $60000.
