DESCRIPTION:On Remembrance Sunday we take time to pause and remember lives
lost to war\, to honour those who served and sacrificed\, and to renew our
longing for a world shaped by peace. Our scripture readings speak to peop
le living with uncertainty and waiting for what comes next. Paul reminds a
grieving community that they do not grieve without hope\, while Jesus tel
ls a story about staying awake\, keeping our lamps burning\, and being rea
dy. This Sunday\, we’ll consider what Christian readiness looks like—n
ot fearfully watching for what might happen\, but faithfully living the li
fe God has given us now. Our prayer today is that in a world still marked
by conflict and loss\, may we be found ready: holding onto hope\, working
for peace\, and keeping the light burning.\n\nPlease come along to conside
r this with us\, and\, if you can\, stay to share some conversation and re
 freshments after the service.
