Lenten Study: The Way, Adam Hamilton

This Lent, travel to the Holy Land with Adam Hamilton as he retraces the life and ministry of  Jesus Christ.  Using historical and archaeological information, Hamilton follows in the footsteps of Jesus from his baptism to the heart of his ministry, including the people he loved, the parables he taught, the enemies he made, and the healing he brought.

Participate in the way that suits you best:

  • Read the Book (The Way: Walking in the Footsteps of Jesus)
  • Follow the Devotional (The Way: 40 Days of Reflection)
  • Join a small group discussion based on the video (The Way: Videos)
  • Tuesday afternoon at the church, 1 pm to 2:30 pm, February 28 to April 4.
  • Wednesday evening at 7 pm to 8:30 pm on Zoom, except for the first week, which will be on Thursday, March 2. Sessions will continue on Wednesday from March 8 to April 5.

Each session focuses on a different topic so it isn't necessary to attend every session.  A list of the topics is below:

Week 1. Baptism and Temptation:  The Jordan River and the Wilderness
Week 2. The Healing Ministry:  Capernaum
Week 3. Proclaiming the Kingdom:  The Mountains
Week 4. Calming the Storm: The Sea of Galilee
Week 5. Sinners, Outcasts, and the Poor: Samaria
Week 6. The Final Week: Jerusalem

The study comes with a companion book.  It isn't necessary to read the book in order to join the study (discussion will be based on the videos); however, please call the church if you would like a copy of the book. A 40-day devotional is also available if you are interested.

You're welcome to join the Tuesday afternoon sessions at the church, or to email info@wpchurch.net if you'd like a link to the Zoom sessions on Wednesday evenings.
