This event has already occurred
Love. God's love is central to the gospels and to our faith. Wise minds have pondered the meaning of that love, including John Dryden, a 17th century essayist and poet, who gave us the quote in the sermon title: "Love is love's reward". The gospel reading hints at that too. Maybe the participation in God's kingdom is its own reward. Perhaps our reward is something we live, not something we get.
