Music & Worship
Are there music groups to join? What happens at our Worship Services?
Westminster has some favourite traditions. We start most services with one verse of “Holy, Holy, Holy” and close with a choral (sung) amen, but in between, we enjoy a wide range of music, along with creative and engaging special times for the children in service before they leave for Sunday school. You can expect a Bible-based message, and a warm community welcome.
What about my kids?
There is a nursery available for babies and toddlers, and you are also welcome to keep your small children with you for the service if you prefer. All children join us for the start of the service, and are invited to a children’s time at the front of the church most Sundays, before going off to Sunday school for those aged 3 and up. Juice and cookies are available at the end of Sunday school, while their parents and other folks have tea, coffee and a visit.
How long is it?
We generally try to keep the service to about 60 minutes. Most folks stay after service for a very conversational tea-and-coffee time (with birthday treats on the first Sunday of every month). If you can stay, you’ll find a welcoming group, and if you can’t, don’t worry – maybe we can catch up another time.
How can I join in?
Please click on the tab at left on Choirs and Music Groups if you think you or your children would like to know more about how you can add your voice in this way. Or connect with Heather Bryant, our music director, if you'd like to talk about other ways to be involved.
