The New Year often invites us to aim higher, do more, and be better. But the wisdom we encounter this week moves in the opposite direction. In Jesus’ baptism, we meet a king who steps into the water—not to stand apart, but to stand with. In Acts we hear the ripple effects of that moment as the early church discovers a God whose love knows no boundaries. This Sunday invites us to consider what it means to begin the year grounded not in striving, but in belovedness.

We'd love it if you could stay after service for some conversation and refreshments. (We'll be using disposable/biodegradable cups this week because of the water shortage, but we'll still be able to share some refreshments!)
