What happens at our Worship Services?
Westminster is open for worship! We enjoy a wide range of music, and would welcome you on any Sunday at 10:30 am.
Here at Westminster we love meeting new people of all ages! Whether you are looking for a new church family or are someone seeking answers, we will welcome you with open arms. If you aren't ready to join us in person, we will be posting abridged versions of our services on the website. If you are part of Westminster, and would like to access a livestream service, please join us through the button in our newsletter, or send an email to email@example.com for a link. Details of what in person worship will look like are below.
In-Person Worship Service under COVID Guidelines: Post-September 23 edition
Most people to come in through the front door. For those who need easier access, there is handicap parking at the back door, you're welcome to use that and come in through that door. We are asking that everyone continue to wear masks for now; this is also a requirement of the recent AHS Guidelines. Hand sanitizers will be readily available for your use.
An usher will say hello and see you to your seat. We're going to continue with social distancing, which means we'll be able to use every second pew, and will be following a seating plan that maximizes the distance between different "bubbles" of people. We will continue to re-evaluate as we go and revise the process as we go forward.
Children will sit with their parents at the beginning of service. We ask that kids 5 and older wear masks, just as they do at school. The minister will have a children's time, but the children will stay with their parents for this time, and will go upstairs to Sunday school together after the Children's Time.
The hymn books and other items in the pew racks have been removed to limit contact with items handled by others - so we will be using projected words and images during the service. We are allowing congregational singing (staying seated and wearing masks).
Offering will be taken through a "retiring offering" -- in other words, the plates will be placed at the exit doors from the sanctuary, and you'll be able to leave an offering there if you like.
Coffee and Social Time
We've put a hold on this for the next while, until COVID subsides a bit further.
What should I wear?
Our members wear anything from dresses and ties to jeans (and in August, sometimes shorts) and sneakers. So come in whatever you feel comfortable in - you will fit right in!
You are always welcome at Westminster!
Are there music groups to join?
There are three choirs at Westminster, and they are re-starting in September. Click on the menu at your left to find out more about each choir.
